Employee Assistance Program

The EAP provides confidential crisis intervention, assessments, consultations, short-term counseling and referral services to employees who are having personal, family, financial, emotional or mental health difficulties, as well as drug and alcohol abuse problems.
The counseling is provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and participants are allowed up to six (6) sessions per person at no cost to the employee or family member. For more information, contact the EAP Manager at 385-468-0594, located in the County Government Center, Room N4606.
Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is:
- Voluntary-If you are a full-time, part-time, merit or temporary employee, you and your immediate family are eligible for EAP benefits. You may contact the EAP directly. Participation in the program is voluntary.
- Confidential — All records kept by the EAP counselor are confidential. Your records are protected by federal privacy laws. Information will only be released with the clients express written consent, in a life threatening situation, or in child abuse cases.
- Professional — The EAP counselor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the State of Utah.
- A Paid Benefit — The EAP is provided by Salt Lake County and participants are allowed up to six (6) sessions per person at no cost to the employee. It provides professional crisis intervention/counseling and referral. If the EAP counselor recommends that an employee consult an outside service, the counselor will assist in interpreting insurance benefits.
- Accessible — Call the Employee Assistance Program Manager at 385-468-0594 for an appointment.
- Available to Dependents — Since problems experienced by family members can impact an employee’s work performance, spouses and eligible dependents are also encouraged to use the program.
